Criminal Sentence 281: A little bit of wordiness

From a Web site:

"It gives us a little bit of optimism."

No grammatical problems here, but it's just too wordy for my taste. Eight words here when four would do:

"We are slightly optimistic."

Try your best to cut words. Your readers will thank you!
