From a Web site:
"However, with the dawn of the internet, that information is now readily available."
The phrase "the Internet" is usually capitalized.

I have decided that internet does not need to be capitalized. I do not write, "I answered the Telephone."
True, Bill. What are your feelings about "the Web" vs. "the web"?
I use web and website. If you go to the trouble of writing "World Wide Web," then I don't object to the capitalization of it.
Bill, I agree that World Wide Web is correct. Web/web and Website/website/Web site/web site are mostly style choices. I recommend just sticking with one way.
