Someone asked me this question:
"[I] wanted a professional explanation of my tagline - The Education I Never Got. It is a play on words that I'm not even sure I should keep because it may sound just too unintelligent. So I was wondering if you could help me out on a good explanation of the sentence - why it works or doesn't work."
This sounds fine to me. Anyone else have an opinion?
Sounds fine to me, too, and I think it's a great title, actually.
ReplyDeleteI think it is all in the reading. When you put the accent on the word I...it works. I like it.
ReplyDeleteIs the implied issue with the colloquial word ‘got’ as in those infernal adverts: “Got milk?”
ReplyDeleteI am the reader who had the question. Thank you, Sentence Sleuth, for posting the question and thanks for reader comments. One of the issues was ending the sentence with 'got.' I appreciate the feedback.
