Reader Question

Someone asked me this question:

"[I] wanted a professional explanation of my tagline - The Education I Never Got. It is a play on words that I'm not even sure I should keep because it may sound just too unintelligent. So I was wondering if you could help me out on a good explanation of the sentence - why it works or doesn't work."

This sounds fine to me. Anyone else have an opinion?

  1. Sounds fine to me, too, and I think it's a great title, actually.

  2. I think it is all in the reading. When you put the accent on the word I...it works. I like it.

  3. Is the implied issue with the colloquial word ‘got’ as in those infernal adverts: “Got milk?”

  4. I am the reader who had the question. Thank you, Sentence Sleuth, for posting the question and thanks for reader comments. One of the issues was ending the sentence with 'got.' I appreciate the feedback.
