Criminal Sentence 333: A Musical Sentence

From a writing Web site:

"Just cut and paste your text into the box and viola!"

This made me laugh. A viola is a musical instrument; voilĂ  is a French expression.

  1. Is "cut and paste" considered a single unit? Or should it be read as "cut text into the box" and "past text into the box?" Should the sentence read, "Just cut out the text and paste it into the box, voila"?

  2. Although cut and paste are two actions, we often talk about them together. You could write "Just cut out the text and paste it into the box. Voila (with accent)."
