Criminal Sentence 243: Who's the First Lady?

From a book I read:

"As First Lady, the agents acted as my protectors."

Now that's odd: how can agents be the First Lady? Well, they can't. This is just another misplaced modifier.

What is the writing world coming to?

    I don't know 'what the writing world is coming to' but I do know that your blog is incredibly helpful. I find that I notice more 'bloopers' on signs, etc... and I hope that I am able to catch more of my own mistakes. (Hope I didn't miss any in this comment!) I learn well from your style of teaching.
