  1. Me, too. But I get real bothered by collaborate and commiserate. Where do, respectively, the extra "l" and "m" come from?

  2. Hi, Jered. According to my dictionary, commiserate comes from the Latin root "com," meaning with, and "miserari," meaning to pity. Collaborate comes from "com" plus "laborare," to work.
